San Diego Council 4 Children

Our Concern:

Children being raised in dual households are at risk emotionally, physically, psychologically and academically when their parents are in conflict. Because the special needs of these children are not adequately understood, their needs go unmet. As a result, they are harmed and develop preventable problems and challenges. Our Family Law Council for Children is a resource for people throughout San Diego County who want to help this special group of children. We are committed to the belief that dual-household children need both parents, and that parents and professionals play a role in safely supporting the presence of Mom and Dad in the lives of these children.

Our Mission:

Our Council supports the physical and emotional welfare of children residing in San Diego County placed at risk because their care givers are involved in a custody dispute, marital dissolution action or ongoing domestic conflict.

Our Focus:

We have made a commitment to:
  • Create and expand public awareness of the special needs and challenges of dual-household children.
  • Support existing educational, psychological and physical safety programs tor dual-household children, and support expansion of programs that serve them.
  • Serve as a resource for information, collaboration and referrals for services to those involved in family conflict.
  • Serve as a resource for compiling and disseminating current developments in the fields of psychology and family law to the judiciary, legislature and professionals serving dual-household children.
